Our client is a large and well established Tier 1 Building Contractor with regional offices in Cardiff and Bristol. They are a very successful business having been settled locally for the last 20 years. They continue to be very busy with a strong pipeline of work for 2025.

Due to this ongoing growth, they have approached us with the requirement to recruit aManaging Quantity Surveyoron a permanent basis.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

Prepare a cost estimate based on the initial findings of consultants and in house technical team.

Update the estimate into a detailed cost budget as more information becomes available.

Ability to prepare accurate quantities from drawings.

Work with the project lead to prepare Contractors Proposals as part of any settlement agreement.

Management of existing project surveyors.

Ensure that consultants/subcontractors are procured by the team in accordance with company procedures, and the resulting documents provide a robust contractual agreement which ring fences overall liability.

Financial and contractual management of consultants and subcontractors in accordance with their appointments/subcontracts.

Ensure that applications for payment are submitted in accordance with the agreed time scales and with sufficient information to allow the timely issue of recommendations for payment.

Provide accurate financial reports each month in accordance with BYUK rules of reporting and time scales.

Ensure that records are maintained and stored during the works on site to ensure they are sufficient to support any recovery actions.

Ensure that supply chain applications for payment are correctly and accurately administered in accordance with their appointments.

In collaboration with the Commercial Director,maximisesuccess of the project mitigation and recovery strategy including any recovery action.

Provide support to the project lead including attending site meetings and contributing to both internal and external monthly reports.

Review with technical manager third party claims and provide detailed assessments including Scott Schedules.
