About the Role

We are seeking aQuantity Surveyorwith experience inresidential and commercial constructionto join our team. You will play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and financial control across a variety of projects, including housing developments, apartment complexes, office buildings, and retail spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for residential and commercial projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and monitor project costs, ensuring profitability and budget adherence.
  • Assess and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
  • Measure and value construction work, including variations and change orders.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Work closely with developers, contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to maximise cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with UK construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and contract variations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or CIOB accreditation is desirable.
  • Experience:Proven experience inresidential and/or commercial construction projectsin the UK.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent cost control, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Main Contract QS work, Cashflow, Cost Value Recognitions (CVRs).
