About the Role
We are seeking aQuantity Surveyorwith experience inresidential and commercial constructionto join our team. You will play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and financial control across a variety of projects, including housing developments, apartment complexes, office buildings, and retail spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for residential and commercial projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage and monitor project costs, ensuring profitability and budget adherence.
- Assess and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
- Measure and value construction work, including variations and change orders.
- Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Work closely with developers, contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure financial efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to maximise cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with UK construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and contract variations.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or CIOB accreditation is desirable.
- Experience:Proven experience inresidential and/or commercial construction projectsin the UK.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Excellent cost control, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
- Main Contract QS work, Cashflow, Cost Value Recognitions (CVRs).
