We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our projects, managing cost estimations, and supporting the project delivery process from inception through to completion.

Duties

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects, with a particular focus on External Wall Insulation (EWI) and refurbishment works.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial targets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contract negotiations, variations, and change orders while maintaining accurate and up-to-date project records.
  • Cost Reporting: Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management and project teams, ensuring financial performance is aligned with client expectations.
  • Risk & Value Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks while seeking opportunities for value engineering and innovation to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Subcontractor Liaison: Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, managing procurement, and ensuring value for money.
  • Site Visits & Assessments: Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure that the works are being executed as per the project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with SERS Ltd's health and safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, particularly with experience in refurbishment, insulation, or energy efficiency projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation, contract law, and financial management in construction.
  • Experience with major capital projects and external wall insulation works is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project teams, clients, and suppliers.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Membership with RICS or an equivalent professional body is advantageous.
