RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and manage real estate finance transactions, advising clients on acquisition and investment finance, refinancing, development and construction finance, and mezzanine finance.
* Oversee due diligence processes and the preparation of certificates/reports on title, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of documents.
* Provide advice on intercreditor arrangements, ESG and sustainable finance, offering creative and practical solutions for complex transactions.
* Advise a wide range of commercial lenders and borrowers in diverse property sectors.
* Take a commercial, proactive approach to transactions, identifying potential issues early and providing solutions to mitigate risks.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including valuers, legal advisors, and financial experts, to ensure smooth and timely drawdown of funds.
* Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and associates, aiding in their professional development.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering consistent, high-quality legal advice that aligns with clients' business strategies and objectives.
* Stay up to date with market trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes, ensuring clients receive current and accurate advice.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) at least 8 years post qualified experience with proven experience leading and managing complex real estate finance transactions. Experience leading and mentoring teams.
* Strong client management skills, working with lenders, borrowers, and developers. Experience in business development and growing a banking and finance practice, including bringing in new clients and building long-term relationships.
