Key Responsibilities as a Café Supervisor
- Ensure that all customers receive a friendly, efficient, and memorable experience, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.
- Train and mentor café staff in customer service best practices, barista skills, and knowledge of local seasonal produce. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages, maintaining the highest standards of taste and presentation. Ensure all baristas are well-trained in coffee preparation techniques.
- Develop an understanding of the cafés menu, focusing on the use of local ingredients and seasonal produce. Educate staff and customers about the sourcing and benefits of these ingredients.
- Assist in managing daily café operations, including stock management, cash handling, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the café.
- Support the planning and execution of café events and pop-ups, ensuring smooth service and an engaging atmosphere for guests.
- Foster connections with local producers and suppliers to enhance the cafés offerings and promote community involvement.
- Regularly collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement in service and offerings.
Desirable Skills for a Café Supervisor
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role (minimum 2 years), preferably in a café or restaurant setting.
- Strong barista skills and knowledge of coffee preparation.
- Experience in training and developing staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
