We are looking for an experienced Biology Teacher to join our team from 6th January to April 2025. This School is based in the St Mellons area of Cardiff and is easily accessed, with students from 4-18yrs. An independent school dedicated to offering the best education and learning environment with average class sizes of fewer than 16 pupils. Achieving grades 1.5x higher than predicted at GCSE and A Level offering vast opportunities in sport, music and drama. Their most recent ESTYN inspection was EXCELLENT.The successful candidate will primarily teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with some responsibilities extending to Key Stage 5. A strong understanding of the WJEC specification is essential for this role.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and informative Biology lessons to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and occasionally at Key Stage 5.
- Prepare lesson plans, practical experiments, and teaching materials that align with the WJEC curriculum.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress through both formative and summative assessments.
- Provide individualised support and feedback to students to foster their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with the science department to develop teaching resources and strategies that enhance learning outcomes.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with some experience in Key Stage 5.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the WJEC specification.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
