Hoop Education are currently recruiting for experienced and newly qualified Design and TechnologyTeachers who are looking for a new challenge in the Cardiff area (this role is dependent on a January start time continuing to June 2025).

Essential qualities for this role of a Design and Technology Teacher include:

  • DT Teacher with Secondary QTS.
  • be skilled in Graphics and Product Design and able to use Photoshop, Adobe, and Illustrator.
  • competent in operating workshop machinery, and able to safely supervise pupils working in the workshop.
  • A DATA certificate would be beneficial or other similar training relating to H&S.

General Responsibilities for a Design and Technology Teacher may include:

  • Planning and preparing engaging and effective lessons
  • Explore and utilise creative teaching methods within the classroom
  • Use methods of assessments to monitor progress and set targets for learners
  • Be reflective on your practise to create a positive learning experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PCET will be considered.
  • Have a valid, enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to get one)
  • Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Be a passionate practitioner with the desire to improve the education outcomes for all pupils
  • Have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels
