About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Welsh-Medium Geography Teacher to join our vibrant school in Cardiff. The successful candidate will have a natural enthusiasm for geography and the ability to teach through the medium of Welsh, inspiring students to explore the complex relationships between people, places, and environments. This role involves delivering engaging lessons that align with the Curriculum for Wales and fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and global awareness across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality geography lessons through the medium of Welsh, aligned with the Curriculum for Wales, and suitable for all key stages.
- Inspire students to develop a deep understanding of physical and human geography while enhancing their analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Monitor, assess, and provide constructive feedback on student progress, addressing diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to the wider school community by organizing field trips, geography-related events, and extracurricular activities.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic excellence.
About You
You will be a qualified teacher fluent in Welsh, with a strong foundation in geography and a thorough understanding of the Curriculum for Wales. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a commitment to fostering a love for geography and critical thinking among students.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialization in Geography.
- Fluency in Welsh, with experience teaching through the medium of Welsh.
- Proven experience teaching geography, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- A solid understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and effective assessment strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
- A passion for promoting global awareness, environmental stewardship, and lifelong learning.
