Your new schoolHays are recruiting a Welsh-Medium SEN Teaching Assistant for a Welsh-Medium Primary School in Cardiff. The school offers an excellent standard of Welsh medium education for students aged between 3 and 11. The role will consist of offering 1:1 support to a 7-year-old girl with additional learning needs, offering educational and emotional support. The school is well respected across the board for the care, support, and education they provide for their students, all through the medium of Welsh. The school creates and maintains an inclusive and happy learning environment where teachers and students alike can succeed to the best of their abilities. The school are looking for a positive, engaging, and committed addition to their teaching staff team. Your new role.The role is confirmed long-term for a September start, working 5 days a week. However, the school also has roles which are immediately available within that time. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting a 7-year-old girl with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis.
  • Working through the medium of Welsh.
  • Offering educational and emotional support.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning environment for the pupils.
  • Working as part of a close-knit and efficient team with other members of the teaching staff.
  • Assisting teachers as they implement their creative lesson plans

What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience over the course of the last 2 - 3 years and must be able to speak Welsh. Some of the key attributes needed for this role include enthusiasm, dedication, and a hardworking nature. Additional skills and attributes include empathy, calmness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships. Experience of working with additional learning needs is desirable but not required.
