Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee rail and civil engineering works at our Long Ashton site in Bristol. The successful candidate will have a strong background in rail and civils projects, along with a valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification. This is a contract role requiring a hands-on leader who ensures work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Lead and manage a team of operatives, ensuring compliance with project plans and industry standards.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to, conducting site inspections and risk assessments as required.
- Communicate effectively with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor material usage and ensure the efficient allocation of resources.
- Report progress, challenges, and any issues to senior management.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and safety reports.
- Ensure compliance with Network Rail and company standards.
- Proven experience as a Foreman in the rail and civils sector.
- Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure and civil engineering works.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a rail/civils environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- Experience working on Network Rail projects.
- First Aid certification.
- CPCS or NPORS for plant operations.
- Location: Long Ashton, Bristol
- Duration: TBC (depending on project requirements)
- Hours: TBC (may include night shifts and weekends depending on rail work schedules)
- Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
