Transport Planner - Weighbridge Office

Permanent

35k - 40k

Hours - between 6am and 6pm however the office working hours will be 8am to 5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

- Assisting the weighbridge Office Manager in managing and motivating the transport team to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum commercial contract efficiency, profit, and customer service.

- Organising and planning the activities of the Transport Operation.

- Providing leadership for daily transport issues, including dispatch debriefs and work progress.

- Working closely with customers to ensure the smooth running of the operation.

- Manage and debrief drivers on their daily activities.

- Maximising the use of resources within the operation by fully utilising assets and planning.

- Providing regular reports to the Transport & Sales Manager on customer-related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where appropriate.

- Answering queries via email, phone, and face-to-face.

- Assisting in the production of KPIs and daily statistics.

- Helping with compliance planning in line with company procedure.

- Providing direct assistance and support for breakdowns.

- Promote and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and offer support and assistance as a team member.

Essential Skills

- Previous experience working within the waste and logistics industry

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Understand legal compliance, driver’s hours.

- Leadership skills

- Proven experience in customer relationship management

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- IT literacy, including MS Office

- Analytical ability to review data and reports
