About the Role:

Randstad are working with Cardiff Children's Services to recruit a passionate and experienced Agency Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. You will work with children and young people who have a range of disabilities, helping them and their families access the support they need to live fulfilling lives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct holistic assessments of children with disabilities and their families, developing person-centered care and support plans to meet their individual needs.
  • Support and Advocacy: Advocate for children and young people, ensuring they receive the appropriate services and that their rights and best interests are upheld.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with schools, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to coordinate and deliver integrated care and support services.
  • Safeguarding: Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate protective measures are taken in line with Cardiff's safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Direct Work with Families: Provide advice, guidance, and emotional support to families, empowering them to care for their children and access resources.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to crises, providing practical and emotional support to prevent family breakdowns and ensure child safety.
  • Reviewing Care Plans: Regularly review care and support plans to ensure they remain relevant and continue to meet the needs of the child and their family.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with local authority policies and statutory requirements.


About You:

  • Qualifications: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and current registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with disabilities or within a similar setting is essential.
