About the Role:Our client, Cardiff Council, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Locality Team within Children's Services. This role focuses on providing ongoing support to children and families within the community, ensuring effective interventions that promote positive outcomes for children in need of care and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload, including children in need, child protection, and looked-after children cases.

  • Undertake assessments and develop care plans that support the welfare and development of children.

  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to provide coordinated services.

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.

  • Prepare reports for court proceedings and attend hearings as required.

  • Participate in strategy discussions, case conferences, and review meetings.

  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service development and best practices.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) with current Social Care Wales registration.

  • Experience working within children's services, ideally within a locality or safeguarding team.

  • Strong understanding of Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant legislation.

  • Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively and work under pressure.

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
