The Placements Team at a South Wales based local authority is seeking dedicated professionals to help shape the future of foster care. Our team works closely with the Fostering Panel to assess and approve foster placements, including kinship placements, allowing children to stay connected with their wider family networks.

As part of their commitment to supporting foster carers, we offer 24/7 professional fostering support. Our dedicated support line is staffed by experienced fostering professionals who are available around the clock to provide guidance and assistance. Join us, and you'll be part of a team that promotes the recruitment and retention of local carers, ensuring that every child in our care finds the right placement.

We are currently hiring a Social Worker with a salary range of 34,834 - 43,421 (depending on experience). In this role, you will oversee the support provided to children and families under a Special Guardianship Order. You will ensure that annual reviews are conducted and deliver tailored support to meet the unique needs of each family.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialised support to children and families.
  • Conducting annual reviews and designing individual and group support programs.
  • Participating in out-of-hours support on a rotational basis (one overnight per week, less than one full weekend per month). An additional allowance will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with post-qualification experience in direct social work with children, families, and/or carers.
