Reed Education Cardiff are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support pupils within a local Specialist school with their learning journeys. This is to start as soon as possible and could be both day-to-day or long-term cover.

The school based within the outskirts of Cardiff is a specialist 'Trauma Informed School' supporting young people with Social Emotional Mental Health. They offer a high-quality teaching of which is adapted to allow students the best possible learning and offers excellent opportunities for young people to enjoy a variety of activities that links with their education - this includes hiking, forest school, swimming, day trips, bush-craft and much more! The school offer pupils a fresh start for pupils and provide a safe space for both academic and personal growth. 

As the Learning Support Assistant, you will:• Be a patient, passionate and resilient individual, with relative experience• Have experience supporting Social, Emotional Mental Health in young people with a positive and patient manner, capable of effectively de-escalating confrontational situations • Be available as soon as possible for five days per week on an ongoing basis• Be open to working with individuals and small groups, depending on the needs of the day• Have an Enhanced DBS (Child) on the Update Service – or be willing to obtain onePLEASE NOTE: This role will require a fit and active individual due to the amount of external activities that take place at the school. There is a gym for candidates to use whilst on site, and does have off-road parking.

The salary for this position is currently set between ÂŁ80-95 per day. You will be paid on a weekly basis (the following Friday).
