A secondary school in Cardiffis seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Specialist Resource Base. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate after an initial trial period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a specialist resource base.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs and activities.
  • Utilize your knowledge of tactical and online gaming platforms to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills and managing behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD and ALN is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft, War Hammer, and other tactical or online platforms is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the educational development of young people.
