A Cardiff based international business are looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist. This business excel in their field and their product has a genuine impact on the end user. The business offer an excellent benefits package including a strong pension contribution, a good bonus and opportunities to go on courses and further professional development. The role is well suited to an procurement professional coming from a highly regulated industry, with the candidate having a strong indirect procurement background.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working as the Category Lead on Business wide Indirect Spend.
  • Supporting the Group Head of Procurement on Capital Spend Projects.
  • Supporting Site Procurement Leads with day-to-day Indirect & Capex category order management & supplier management.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to achieve market competitive pricing and acceptable commercial terms.
  • Collecting and analysing business spend data and Supplier Sustainability Status
  • In the Indirect Category researching new suppliers, products and supply market trends.
  • Conducting supplier review meetings to discuss performance and driving continuous improvement opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge & previous experience of indirect & capital site procurement.
  • Excellent communication skills to help negotiations and ensure that expectations are clear.
  • Previous experience of managing RFI's and RFQ's.
  • Ability to build robust relationships with External and Internal Stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of procurement or site buyer roles.
  • Robust IT skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • CIPS level 4 qualified or working towards CIPS qualification.
