Your new organisation

My client requires a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Construction Surveyor to act as the Client's Agent for the construction of a new hospital. This is a client-side role, where you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the construction process, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This project is intended to be the greenest hospital in the UK and will present numerous challenges due to its design and how the building will be used.

Your new role

You will be overseeing the delivery of the hospital construction project work in accordance with NHS requirements. This will include monitoring the work of contractors and subcontractors and notifying the client, the Independent Tester/Certifier, and contractor of any potential issues. You will be reviewing the quality of works on site, to ensure the construction matches the design and specification. You will be acting as the daily site liaison officer with all site stakeholders, conducting detailed site surveys and assessments, preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, monitoring progress and providing regular updates to the client whilst identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.

What you'll need to be successful

You will need a chartered status with a recognised professional body such as RICS or the CIOB, as well as proven experience in construction surveying, preferably in healthcare projects. You will require strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements, excellent project management and organisational skills.
