Internal Sales Agent

Location: Cardiff - CF37

Salary - £30,000 - £35,000

We are currently seeking an Internal Sales Agent for our client based at their Cardiff office. This is a permanent position within our sales team, focusing on the sale of construction materials across the Southwest and South Wales region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound enquiries from customers and provide sales administration support to Territory Sales Managers.
  • Price, chase, and secure orders to meet sales targets.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintaining a professional approach at all times.
  • Answer calls promptly, record enquiries, and provide accurate pricing within agreed tolerances.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and correspondence.
  • Process order acknowledgments and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Administer the Cash Sales Process and support the Purchase Ledger Team with data recording.
  • Generate weekly sales reports, highlighting key data and opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and additional product sales.
  • Respond to invoice queries within a 7-day timeframe.
  • Monitor and act on new and declining customer activity to generate business opportunities.
  • Provide cover for other departments when required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong customer relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Sales-driven mindset, actively looking for opportunities to grow the customer base.
  • Good knowledge of construction materials or a willingness to develop expertise in the product range.
  • Effective time management and ability to work within administrative guidelines.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate sales data and reporting.
