We are recruiting on behalf of aleading building contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public sector framework schemes.With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a talented and experienced Construction Planner to join theirteam in either Bristol or Cardiff.
The Role:
As a Construction Planner, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our projects, working across both tenders and live projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner or a site/project manager with planning experience seeking a fresh challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and programmes for both tenders and live projects.
- Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with site teams, project managers, and clients to identify key milestones, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare phasing plans, logistics strategies, and construction methodologies.
- Analyse project progress and provide accurate reports to stakeholders, identifying potential delays and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Support the tendering process by preparing programmes, methodology statements, and resource allocation plans.
- Use planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or equivalent to create and manage project schedules.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with the project programme.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards in all planning activities.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a construction planning role or significant planning experience gained as a site/project manager.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies across a range of sectors.
- Proficiency in planning software (e.g.Microsoft Project or Asta Powerproject).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing project schedules.
- A relevant construction qualification (degree/HNC/HND) or equivalent experience is desirable.
