Join Our Team as a Facilities Maintenance Engineer in Motherwell

We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team based in the vibrant city of Motherwell.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining various building systems, including HVAC, electricals, hot & cold water supply systems and lighting.

Qualifications Required for Facilities Maintenance Engineer Role:

  • Relevant engineering diploma or equivalent experience


Skills/Experience Required for Facilities Maintenance Engineer Role:


The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years' experience working within facilities maintenance with knowledge across several areas such as M&E Engineering.


Specifically we require someone who has skills/experience/knowledge in:

  • HVAC - Knowledgeable about Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system installation/maintenance/repairing principles that meet industry standards.
  • Electrical - Experience installing/troubleshooting complex electrical installations/systems using diagrams/schematics/blueprints; good understanding of voltage/amperage values associated with different devices/appliances used around buildings/facilities
  • Building Management System (BMS) -Knowledgeable about BMS operation/setup/installation/checkup procedures/mechanisms etc., preferably certified /qualified by relevant authorities/bodies,
  • Mechanical & Electrical(M&E) Engineering - Knowledge/applicable training certificate(s)/work experiences related to mechanical/electrical equipment design/construction/review/testing/project management processes required from time-to-time depending upon specific organizational needs/projects under consideration,
  • Hot/Cold Water Supply Systems-Must possess sufficient knowledge regarding domestic/commercial plumbing works involving pipework installation/joints fixing/pump pressure setting/water softening/treatment methods/hygiene issues/preventive measures against leakages/blockades/rusting problems etc.,
  • Lighting-The candidate must understand how commercial/residential light fixtures work/how they can be maintained effectively over long periods without needing frequent replacements due to wear-and-tear factors;
  • PAT Testing-Proven abilities conducting Portable Appliance Testing(PAT) checks periodically/enforcing suitable corrective actions whenever faults/issues arise during PAT check-up exercises.



In addition to these technical competencies other desirable qualities include excellent communication/people-management/team-working/administrative aptitudes/negotiation/problem-solving/conflict-resolution/time-management capabilities along-with ability upskill oneself through continuous learning/training opportunities if any offered further down-the-line
