We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead a culinary team and elevate the food offering at an esteemed location in the Lake District. This role is perfect for a culinary leader who thrives in delivering high-quality food, innovating new dishes, and maintaining impeccable standards across the kitchen.

Head Chef Ideal Profile:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role or as a senior chef
  • NVQ Level 1 & 2 or equivalent, with a Food Hygiene Certificate level 3 minimum
  • Broad culinary knowledge with a passion for food and a strong desire to continuously learn and improve
  • Proficient in IT and relevant software systems, with excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong leadership qualities, capable of motivating staff and managing a diverse team
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and adaptable to changing schedules

Head Chef Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and enhance the food strategy, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Develop and implement new menus and dishes, managing the seasonal menu changes from concept to execution
  • Lead and train the kitchen team, providing clear direction and support for professional development
  • Ensure compliance with current food legislation and company standards for kitchen operations
  • Manage kitchen finances, including payroll and food costs, to align with budget goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and processes meet health and safety standards
