  • Preparing detailed, accurate, and comprehensive Bills of Costs of Deputyship Applications, General Management, Statutory Will Applications, Gift Applications, and other matters as required.
  • Providing expert advice on the potential outcome at provisional assessment, and how the client can maximise their recovery on each matter.
  • Dealing with the process of the provisional assessment of the Bills by the SCCO where required, to include the use of HMCTS E-Filing service and the completion of all necessary Court forms, up to and including obtaining the Final Costs Certificate.
  • Providing advice to clients on the outcome of provisional assessments, and whether there are any grounds to appeal the same.
  • Preparing informal, written, requests for reconsideration of provisional assessments, and requesting oral hearings if necessary, including preparing all necessary documentation.
  • Being proactive in keeping up to date with developments in the Court of Protection and at the SCCO, and keeping abreast of relevant rules, regulations, and guidance.
  • Attending internal and external training sessions, conferences and seminars as required.
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients, providing ongoing costs advice, and delivering exceptional levels of client care.
  • Managing own caseload to a high standard and in a timely manner.
