Our Cumbria Mechanical Assets maintenance team are looking for a Mechanical biased fitter to work on their Central Cumbria sites on large, medium and small sizes assets in the Utilities sector.
Location is based from Carlisle but will include but not restricted to:
Carlisle
Penrith
Tebay
As a Mechanical Fitter, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Working across Central Cumbria at various sites
- Preventative and reactive Mechanical maintenance on Mechanical assets
- Rebuilding shafts and motors
- Replacing bearings
- Lifting and unblocking pipes
- Testing and commission post installation
- Refurbishment and upgrading of older systems
- Often working outside no matter what the weather (full kit provided)
- Operating hand, power tools & heavy equipment Ensuring that your workspace is maintained
- Checking that the quality of your work is to the standard expected
- Working from drawings and job specifications on each job
- Liaising with both HQ and the customer when onsite
- Completing paperwork as required
Background
Owing to the variety of skills involved in this position we’d be keen to hear from applicants with prior experience with:
- Welding and Fabrication
- Plant maintenance
- Mechanical fitter
Pay Rates: :£23.68 per hour PAYE or £37.61 per hour Umbrella
Overtime is available on Saturdays at 1.5 and Sunday’s double time
Contract length: 5 months rolling
Qualifications
Level 3 or equivalent (can be apprenticeship)
Valid UK Drivers licence
Minimum 18 months experience in Mechanical maintenance
