Mechanical Fitter (Progression to Maintenance Engineer)

£35,000 - £40,000 + Progression + Training + Optional Overtime + Benefits

Are you a Mechanical Fitter or similar looking for training on the maintenance of bespoke machinery, where you will be working in close knit team to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer?

In this role you will be working in a manufacturing environment, working on heavy duty automated machinery. You will be responsible for fitting parts, changing gearboxes and servicing machinery. You will be trained on how to replace parts on their bespoke machinery and learn how to fault-find and repair components.

The shift pattern is as follows:

  • Week 1: Sunday - Thursday, 10pm - 6am
  • Week 2: Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm, Friday 1pm - 9pm
  • Week 3: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am -1pm


Established over 150 years ago, this company has a huge history in the timber production industry, now part of an international conglomerate of timber mills. Due to the high demand of this industry this role will be crucial in continuing the smooth running of operations.

This role would suit an Ex-Force engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Technician or similar from a manufacturing or industrial background looking for expert training to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer.

The Role:
*Installing and maintaining hydraulics, valve pumps, gear boxes and motors
*Fault finding bespoke machinery in an automated environment.
*Three Shift rotation, with optional overtime available

The Person:
*Mechanical Fitter, Engineer or similar.
*Industrial or Manufacturing background.
