Your new companyA leading national logistics business with an excellent reputation is recruiting a commercially minded Warehouse Operations Manager to join their newly constructed facility near Carlisle. The company has won an exciting long-term contract, and they need the expertise and skills of an experienced Warehousing & Distribution Manager to join them on their journey.Your new roleThe Warehouse and Distribution Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the warehouse. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will lead the team within the warehouse, including FLMs, QSHE and Inventory Management colleagues to ensure a successful warehousing and distribution operation. You will promote a culture of health and safety, as well as high performance and exceeding KPIs under strict regulations and processes. Overseeing the inbound, outbound and storage operations, you will develop and implement new initiatives for continued operational and service level improvements for the end client. The Warehouse Operations Manager will take a commercially-minded view of the operation and you will bring strong financial acumen to the role. The role is working as part of a larger multi-site operation, so you will need to work closely with other General Managers and Operations Managers to ensure the seamless transportation of goods from one location to another.This role is working Monday-Friday 08:00 - 16:00, with some flexibility required from time to time.What you'll need to succeed
- A proven background in warehousing and distribution operations management
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Experience of managing a multi-site logistics operation
- Ideally, you will have a background in a defence or military operation (or highly regulated environments where processes don't always move at pace!)
- Experience of managing and leading a team, ensuring that KPIs are hit
- Working knowledge of health and safety compliance in a warehousing environment
- Full UK driving license
- Willingness to undergo security clearance process, including an initial Basic DBS Check, followed by SC
