Summary:

We are seeking a Section Engineer for a prompt start on the Harker Substation project in Carlisle, Cumbria. The successful candidate will have a strong construction site background, including experience with reinforced concrete, groundworks, and steel frame buildings. The role requires competency in setting out and surveying. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and quality are maintained throughout the project. As a Section Engineer, you will establish the level and survey control for contracts, set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, and ensure that checks are carried out regularly. You will resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. You will also be responsible for producing procurement schedules, ITPs, Task Briefings, Site Diaries, and Allocation Sheets.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain the level and survey control for contracts.
Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring regular checks.
Ensure accurate and compliant records with organisational and legal requirements.
Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems promptly.
Produce procurement schedules, ITPs, Task Briefings, Site Diaries, and Allocation Sheets.
Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ensure work is delivered defect-free and highlight value engineering opportunities.
Develop good working relationships with the site workforce and technical representatives.
