We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major Highways project in Carlisle. This is a freelance opportunity offering the chance to play a pivotal role in a high-profile infrastructure project while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of working outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
路Manage and oversee all aspects of commercial and contractual activities on the project.
路Provide accurate cost management, forecasting, and reporting.
路Lead on contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC contracts.
路Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks and opportunities.
路Ensure timely submission of valuations and applications for payment.
路Prepare, negotiate, and agree variations, claims, and final accounts.
路Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of the project.

Key Requirements:
路Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in a Tier 1 contracting environment.
路Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
路Previous experience in the Highways sector is highly desirable.
路Exceptional commercial acumen and attention to detail.
路Strong negotiation and communication skills.
路Ability to work independently and efficiently in a freelance capacity.
