Reed Education is seeking a dynamic Design Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Cumbria on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Design Technology to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; teaching KS5 would be an advantage.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and record the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Participate in school meetings and events, and contribute to the development of the school curriculum.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of working effectively with students, demonstrating qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
