Reed Engineering are currently working with an established manufacturer of Autoclave’s who supply to a broad range of blue-chip companies including Heinz, Nestle, Guiness, P&G, GSK to mention a few.
This company pride themselves on the high quality of their products, along with the aftercare and ongoing support they off to their clients.Due to growth and increasing demand for their products they are looking to recruit an experienced service engineer to join based in the north of England, to cover the Northeast, Northwest, Scotland & North Wales.
The successful candidate will be a hardworking mechanical or electrical engineer and will play a key role as part of the Customer Support Team, tasked to delivering technical services to customers, including installation, testing, fault diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance of on-site autoclaves.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Electrical or Mechanical background
- Preventative servicing and breakdown repair of autoclaves in hospitals, universities and laboratories
- HTM testing
- Calibrating and Validation of instruments
- Pressure valves and seals
- Testing
- Strong customer facing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be willing to work flexible hours – i.e. early starts or later finishes.
- Organised and able to follow up with paperwork procedures on time
- Good IT skills
- Full and clean driving licence is essential
- Knowledge of Autoclaves would be advantageous, as will experience of providing technical support in a field-based role.
Additional information:
- Salary £39,520
- 23 days holiday + bank (additional days are earned for long service)

- Full time role – 40 hours per week
- The role is flexible and there will be a need to start early or finish late, as required by customers’ needs.
- Occasional weekend work is also part of the role however there is additional remuneration of £250 per day for this.
