We are a working with a Family ownedindependent fostering agency who arecurrently looking for a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join their team and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

This role is a 1 year fixed-term maternity cover contract which is due to start in June 2025, where you will be covering a small caseload of 5-6 carers in the Cumbria region.

You will be home-based in this position, giving you the flexibility to schedule your own diary and giving you a better work/life balance.

The team is nurturing and supportive, with experienced management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Support Foster Carers: Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to provide quality care to children.

  • Reviews:Regularly review and monitor the progress and wellbeing of children in placement.

  • Compliance and Safeguarding: Ensure all fostering activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and agency policies. Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.

  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work collaboratively with local authorities, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to the care and support of children.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and activities, ensuring confidentiality and data protection protocols are followed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work Qualification: Degree or equivalent in Social Work, with current registration with Social Work England.

  • Experience: Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in fostering (Independent Fostering or Local Authority), with a strong understanding of fostering regulations and best practices.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and report writing skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Driving License: Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
