We are currently looking for aHGV Vehicle Technicianto join our AVC team in Longtown.

In this customer-facing role you will ensure all our AVC customers receive top quality service. As a qualified technician you will carry out servicing, mechanical and electrical repair, and preventative maintenance to a wide range of vehicles. You will be skilled with strong and up-to-date technical knowledge used to carry out diagnostics and ensure vehicle repaired in compliance with company and legislative requirements. This role offers great career development with the opportunity to add to and develop your qualifications with continuous on the job and external training opportunities.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers daily. You pay attention to detail, and you are passionate about staying at the top of your game.A Class 1 (C&E) licencewould be advantageous but is not essential. We would also invite applications from anyone who is currently working their way towards full qualifications, we can consider how we can support you with your training and ensure you get competitive rates of pay during your training getting you on to the full rates as soon as possible.

In return we offer a permanent role on a variable day/backshift, dayshift is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, backshift is Monday to Friday 11am to 9pm.

The role offers very competitive rates of pay, with potential earnings of up to £60,000. With a basic day rate @£18.87ph, after 5pm this can rise to £21.70ph. Overtime is available outside of core rostered hours of 42.5 hours paid at enhanced rates of 1.5 x basic rate, with Sundays and Bank Holiday working paying 2 x basic rate. There is an on-call requirement with the role as per an agreed rota, with renumeration associated with this.
