Murray Recruitment are recruiting a permanent Hire Controller for our client based in South Lanarkshire.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing business within the construction support sector. The Hire Controller will play a crucial role in coordinating hire and service arrangements for customers and construction companies. The role demands a high level of customer service and professionalism, with the chance to work in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries regarding plant and services.
  • Manage and monitor incoming enquiries via telephone, website, and email.
  • Ensure all enquiries are responded to within the hour, following internal guidance.
  • Engage in a range of administrative tasks, including filing and purchase ledger support.
  • Maintain regular contact with drivers and assist in resolving any service issues.
  • Collaborate with the yard team to ensure daily operational readiness.
  • Process and confirm off-hires in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing communication.
  • Work collaboratively within a small, close-knit team with a positive and humorous approach.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar Administrator position is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Salary from £26,984 per annum.
  • Hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
