Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious NPD Site Lead to join their business.

Reporting into the Head of Innovation and Development, this brand new role is an excellent opportunity for a Food or Fresh Produce professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Strategic Development: Lead customer own label development through the Stage and Gate process, ensuring flawless transitions from concept to launch.
* Accurately planning, resourcing and managing the site NPD function.
* Customer Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with customer developers, influencing and aligning with their strategic plans.
* Industry Engagement: Attend trade shows, NPD events, and supplier reviews to stay informed on industry trends.
* Working closely with the Development Chefs and the Commercial Team, to ensure that all information is co-owned, co-approved and appropriate to the brief.
* Leading site Research and Development projects, as appropriate.
* Ensuring that the senior management team are updated with any issues relating to food safety and legality, ensuring that the appropriate actions are agreed and completed.
* Liaising with suppliers, third parties & external providers of expertise.
* Working proactively with respect to new processes, machinery, capabilities and product improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:
* A proven track record of managing NPD teams.
* A proven track record within fresh produce.
* Able to demonstrate key customer stake holder relationships.
* Experience of supporting major retailers and previous exposure to the top leading retailers in the UK.
* Expert knowledge in food science and manufacturing processes.
