Head of UK Purchasing: Carnforth: Hybrid: Permanent: Up to £70k per annumOur client are looking to recruit a Head of Purchasing to join an award winning global organisation who pride themselves on high quality products coupled with an exceptional service, which in turn makes them the BEST in their market. The ideal candidate will oversee purchasing, technical, and compliance activities, ensuring optimum stock levels, product compliance with global legislation, and responsible sourcing. This role is pivotal in maintaining commercial responsibility and demonstrating supply chain implications to management.The daily requirements of this role:Management:
  • Provide leadership and direction to Purchasing teams across the UK, and globally.
  • Share best practices globally and ensure regular progress updates to the Global Managing Director.
  • Lead monthly reporting to the Executive Management Team and coordinate annual business planning and budgeting for Purchasing.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations to manage employee performance.
  • Identify and manage key operating risks effectively.
Purchasing:
  • Oversee UK purchasing activities to meet customer demands and provide operational guidance to international purchasing functions.
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships through various interactions and ensure continuous product quality improvement.
  • Negotiate pricing and quality and develop new supplier relationships.
  • Manage the Supplier Rebate Scheme and ensure adequate stock levels to support sales teams.
Technical:
  • Oversee the global system for addressing customer issues and collaborate with factories to resolve product issues.
  • Work with Sales teams to ensure technical knowledge supports the sales process and develop technical resources in line with brand guidelines.
Compliance:
  • Conduct risk assessments, manage import documentation, and ensure products meet regional compliance levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of success.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience in global purchasing and compliance is essential.
  • Proven ability to use time responsibly and control company spend.
