Reed Education are working with a Large Primary School based in Wallington/Carshalton to support with their recruitment for an Operations Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young people. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and other Trust colleagues to support and lead on Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Estates, and Catering to ensure the school achieves its educational and operational goals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Line manage, direct, and support the school office team and associated office-based administration.
  • Provide support to the school leadership team on non-curricular matters.
  • Lead on holding and maintaining an accurate Single Central Record (SCR) in line with GLT HR Procedures and Ofsted requirements.
  • Advise and support the Headteacher and line managers across a range of HR activities, including employment and employee relations matters such as staff absence, capability, grievance, disciplinaries, etc.
  • Manage the recruitment process for internal and external recruitment, including all pre and on-boarding checks.
  • Responsible for the management and administration of the school's payroll.
  • Oversight of the school finance operations.
  • Act as Health and Safety Lead for the school.
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the Headteacher and members of the school’s Senior Leadership Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Educated to at least A-level standard (or equivalent).
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience in the education sector in a similar role.
  • Hold a recognised Business/Finance/HR qualification.
  • Relevant experience in the field of HR.
  • Experience of successfully leading and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of H&S procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of GDPR requirements.
