We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Lecturer/Assessor in Carpentry to join our School of Technical, Construction and Motor Vehicle. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students and apprentices, maximising their achievement and facilitating continuous improvement. The position also supports curriculum development with a focus on employer engagement and learner skills development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Keep up-to-date with Quality Assurance initiatives and develop service standards for the department.
  • Participate actively in the Professional Development Programme and undertake necessary training in relevant areas of technology.
  • Propose ideas to promote and extend the Group's reputation and the efficient operation of the department.
  • Work safely, consider the safety of others, and adhere to the guidelines stated in the Group Health and Safety Policy.
  • Assist in enrolment and other administrative procedures, which may include occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Group Leadership Team to ensure the efficient functioning of the Group.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in Carpentry.
  • Engage with employers and industry representatives to enhance the curriculum and ensure it meets current industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in Carpentry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching or assessing in technical or vocational education.
  • Strong commitment to professional development and staying updated with industry and educational advancements.
  • Ability to work safely and consider the safety of others.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with industry partners and enhance curriculum relevance.
