Are you a specialist SEND Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities? Are you looking for a new role?
A vacancy has become available for an experienced SEN Teaching assistant to join a well-resourced SEND school in Wallington on a full-time basis.
The Role
In this role you will be working with a small class of pupils all of whom have profound and multiple learning disabilities and severe learning disabilities and; and are working at a similar level. You will be working with various pupils on a 1 to 1 basis and providing all round care and learning support for the class. You should have an understanding of working with children with special needs from previous roles and have a true passion for supporting pupils to succeed in all areas of learning. You will be directed by the class teacher who is highly-experienced and you will be involved in supporting some children whilst they have additional intervention sessions from the internal team of Speech and Language therapists, Drama therapist and Occupational therapists employed within the school.
You will have access to regular CPD courses with other staff and individually.
This role is initially offered on a contract basis until the end of the academic year and could become a permanent position in the future.

This Specialist SEND school offers children with profound and multiple learning difficulites a specialist learning environment and all the support they require to make progress. A key focus of their curriculum is to provide learning experiences that will develop the whole child / young person to be as independent as possible, gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for adulthood and an enriching life. All children attending the school have an Education Health and Care Plan and have a number of dedicated professionals working with them in order to support them to reach their potential. The school uses a trans-disciplinary approach and places a great emphasis on supporting pupils to feel safe, well and emotionally regulated in order that they can achieve their best. The school includes a sensory room, soft play room, occupational therapy room and indoor and outdoor play areas. The unit has its own mini-bus for offsite learning opportunities.
