Are you an experienced Primary School Teacher, with a passion for teaching students with Special Educational Needs? This could be the perfect role for you!

We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEN School in Sutton dedicated to supporting children with a variety of Special Educational Needs including ASD, PMLD and complex needs. The School caters to students aged 3-19.

The School are currently recruiting for a Primary Teacher to teach KS2 students with complex needs. You will be teaching the whole curriculum (All general subjects). Students may display some challenging behaviours.

This is full-time, long-term role and will be with a view to going permanent. The hours will be from 9am-4pm. The salary will be equal to the main Teachersā€™ pay scale plus SEN points.

You will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to meet the unique learning and developmental needs of students with complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on childrenā€™s lives and help them thrive both academically and personally.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment to ensure students are engaged in the lessons.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, including sensory-based and communication-focused approaches.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods where required.
  • Ensure a safe and structured learning environment, implementing behaviour support strategies where necessary.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching children with complex needs in an SEN setting.
  • A strong understanding of a range of SEN, including ASD, PMLD, and communication difficulties.
  • Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) is desirable.
