As a System Adminitrator for our Aerospace, Defence and Security sector, you’ll work within our client’s on-site system administration team, where you’ll provide technical expertise in support of their mission critical systems. Drawing from your system infrastructure knowledge and experience, you’ll work with other departments to support and improve all aspects of the system administration function, performing tasks such as routine monitoring and maintenance, backup and replication management, incident response and troubleshooting, technical procedure production, and performance of system upgrades.

What you'll be doing:

  • System monitoring, routine checks and maintenance.
  • Management of backups/replication to disaster recovery platforms.
  • Respond to system incidents and troubleshoot to resolution.
  • Perform user onboarding (active directory/application management).
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota (approximately 1 week in every 8).

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in Windows desktop and server system administration.
  • Knowledge of enterprise virtualisation such as Vmware vSphere.
  • Installation and configuration of bespoke & COTS software & hardware.
  • Windows scripting skills (batch, powershell).
  • Ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Communication and customer service skills.

It would be great if you had:

  • ITIL Foundation.
  • Technical certification (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc).
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency (Especially VBA).
  • SQL database experience.
  • Experience within a defence environment.
  • A continuous improvement approach.
