Salary: Up to 33,000

We seek an Ocean Import Operator to join their Derby team and complete start-to-finish Operations, including speaking with Origin and taking bookings, through to point of delivery, and creating invoices.

Your key responsibilities as an Ocean Import Operator:

• Provide an exceptional level of service to all customers.
• Manage and oversee the import process for sea freight shipments from origin to delivery
• Quote clients and negotiate rates with suppliers to optimise cost-effectiveness for clients
• Customs procedures
• Liaise with suppliers and hauliers ensuring smooth delivery and monitor shipments to update clients regarding any delays
• Invoice and cost files ensuring the correct profit margin.
• Visit clients with the sales team and help build strong relationships (as required)

Requirements:

• Experience in Freight Forwarding industry is essential
• Start to finish Ocean Freight Operations experience is essential
• Proven customs experience
• Previous experience taking bookings from origin through to delivery point
• Creating invoices
• Effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and your wider team
• Have a keen attention to detail

• Develop trust and respect from colleagues & clients
• Identify problems early & respond in a timely fashion
