Deputy Manager - 50 bed Care Home - Challenging Behaviour & Dementia 

Location: Derby 
Salary: £47,840 per annum 
Hours: Full-Time hours (shifts based and supernumerary - split to be discussed at interview)

Appoint Healthcare is proud to collaborate with a leading national provider of health and social care services, delivering exceptional support to young people and adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities. We are seeking an an experienced senior nurse who is looking to step up into a deputy role or a deputy looking for a new challenge to join our expert multidisciplinary team in a 51 bed care home for men and women with dementia and challenging behaviour located in Derby. We will consider RMN, RNLD and RGN trained nurses for this position.

Role Overview:

As the deputy manager in our 51-bed care home, you will deliver compassionate, patient-centred care while maintaining the highest clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Supervise and support care staff, ensuring high standards and delivering regular training on dementia care and challenging behaviour.
  • Resident Care: Oversee individualised care plans, manage health assessments, and implement strategies for behaviour management and resident engagement.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure regulatory adherence, accurate documentation, and conduct quality audits to uphold CQC standards.
  • Family and Resident Support: Act as a key point of contact for families, ensuring clear communication and advocating for residents' rights and dignity.
  • Operational Management: Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management to create a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse ( RMN, RGN, RNLD )
  • Experience in mental health care, particularly with challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication, administrative, and computer skills.
  • A compassionate, person-centred approach to care.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.
