Job description

BENCH JOINER

Kenect Recruitment have a superb opportunity for an experienced Bench Joiner to join a leading UK supplier of staircases, windows and doors. For more than a decade, they have worked in partnership with several of the UK's leading house builders, property developers and the general public. They are now looking to expand our customer base, and further recruitment is required to support our next level of growth.

Pay 13.50 per hour

Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (Monday to Thursday) & 07:30 - 14:30 on a Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Reporting to the Production Manager you will be expected to:

  • Time served Joiner with industry experience NVQ / City& Guilds qualifications in bench joinery or equivalent
  • Experience in modern woodworking machinery and hand tools
  • Experience in reading drawings, templates & written instructions
  • Be able to produce a bespoke range of joinery
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines
  • An ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ensure the quality of work is completed to the highest degree
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment and follow all Health and Safety policies
  • Liaising with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure production is on track
  • Any other task as requested by a manager

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

  • Skilled and experienced in joinery
  • Have the ability to deliver work to our high standards of craftsmanship and finish.
  • A joinery background is essential
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Staircases experience preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
