Search Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a fast growing business, with locations in the North and South of the UK to recruit a Part Qualified Assistant Management Accountant. The role will be based in Castleford, on a full time basis with the option for hybrid working up to 2 days each week. The Assistant Management Accountant role sits within the existing finance team and provides first-class support to both locations across the UK. Working in a small team, the successful candidate will have exposure to both internal and external stakeholders, helping to shape the future direction of the business. This role is vital in promoting a robust control environment, whilst producing timely and accurate Management Accounts.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director you will be responsible for the month end close process and compilation of the Management Accounts. You will partner with the relevant budget holders regarding a selection of P&L cost lines, reporting variances and trends. In addition, you will ensure the maintenance of Fixed Asset Register, depreciation and capex, as well as the accruals and prepayments schedules. You will coordinate both the Balance Sheet reconciliation and Risk & Opportunities review processes (including any appropriate provisioning).
To be considered for this role you will:
- Be Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) and proactively working towards the qualification.
- Be able to demonstrate a track record for process improvement and value creation.
- Have intermediate experience of Microsoft Excel as a minimum.
- Be comfortable working under pressure to complete tasks in line with rigid deadlines.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail with an organised approach.
- Be a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision and being able to solve problems and deal with issues as they arise.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to see opportunities for improving and streamlining processes.
What's on offer:
Salary of £35,000-£40,000 dependant on experience + study support + hybrid working (up to 2 days each week) + excellent benefits
