Key Responsibilities
As a Part-Qualified Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial performance of the manufacturing operations. Your duties will include:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts to ensure accurate financial planning.
- Management Reporting: Producing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and key financial reports to help inform business decisions.
- Cost Analysis: Supporting the analysis of product costs, manufacturing variances, and performance metrics.
- Inventory Management: Performing financial valuation and monitoring of stock movements, ensuring alignment with operational controls.
- ERP Maintenance: Assisting with the optimisation and use of the ERP system for accurate financial reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identifying areas for efficiency improvements by analysing financial data and processes.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Undertaking additional financial analysis to support new projects or business opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Part-Qualified Accountant: Actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
- Manufacturing Experience: Prior exposure to the manufacturing sector, with understanding of cost accounting and stock systems (preferred).
- System Knowledge: Competency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and data modelling).
- Financial Reporting: Ability to produce and interpret complex management accounts and financial reports
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with detailed financial information.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Desirable Skills
- Working knowledge of the principles of financial strategy or previous experience with financial forecasting tools.
- Previous experience in continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
