Class 1 Driver - Normanton WF10 (Temp to Perm)

Location: Normanton, WF10
Shift: Monday to Friday

• Start Time: 19:00
• Finish Time: 5:00am / 6:00am
  Route: Trunking to Swindon or Sunderland and back

Hourly Rate:

• £14 per hour (7pm to 10pm)
• £16 per hour (Remainder of shift)

Position Type: Temp to Perm – Opportunity for a permanent contract after probation

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Class 1 driver to undertake trunking duties, transporting goods to either Swindon or Sunderland and back. This is a fast-paced role with set routes, and as a Class 1 driver, you will be expected to manage long-distance driving while ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods. Experience in trunking is essential, as this role involves large-scale deliveries with minimal stops, requiring careful planning and focus on safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Trunking deliveries to Swindon or Sunderland and back, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
• Operating Class 1 vehicles to a high standard and in accordance with road safety regulations.
• Adhering to all tachograph, driving hours, and vehicle safety regulations.
• Ensuring loads are secured properly and performing checks on the vehicle before departure.
• Providing excellent customer service while on the road.
• Working to tight schedules with occasional overnight stays.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Class 1 (C+E) License
• Minimum 1 year of trunking experience (essential)
• A valid driver CPC and Digi-tacho card
• Strong understanding of road safety and regulations
• Ability to manage long distances and remain focused for extended periods
• Excellent time management and punctuality
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude
