Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Highways team in Castleford, with the role being accessible from locations including Leeds, Barnsley, Doncaster, and Sheffield. Skills and Experience Required:
• Commercial Estimating Background: Ideally in highways surfacing experience in civil engineering is also welcomed.
• Technical Knowledge: Operational experience in the highways sector, with expertise in pricing tenders for local authority and major schemes.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence and work collaboratively within a team.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to work under pressure, with a focus on detail and a drive to succeed, improve, and innovate.
• Sales and Negotiation: Proven sales skills and successful negotiation experience.
• Contract Knowledge: Working knowledge of NEC 3 and 4 forms of contract.

Key Responsibilities:
• Contract Negotiation: Secure and win work contracts, contributing to the achievement of forecasted budgets.
• Customer Relationships: Manage and develop relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring strong team collaboration.
• Pricing and Tendering: Oversee the production and submission of all pricing work, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
• Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities, submitting competitive tenders while considering capacity, margins, and risks.
• Pre-Contract Reviews: Conduct detailed analyses of subcontractor/supplier quotations and manage tender handover reports.
• Bid Strategy: Develop bid strategies based on market trends and data to enhance the success of tenders.
