Location: Castleford

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Shift Pattern: 3 shift pattern (37.5 Mon to Fri)

o 6am-1.30pm x1 week

o 1.24pm-9pm x1 week

o 8.50pm-6.12am x2 weeks

Would you like to work as a Press Support Operator for a global supply chain leader of innovative premium packaging, promotional vehicles and comprehensive label solutions for the world's largest consumer, agricultural and healthcare. They have an impressive customer base divided between brands and contract manufacturers in many industries all demanding the very best quality of packaging.

Purpose of a Press Support Operator:

To involve components to press, components from press and line support.

Individual to assist in full job strip out. Full line support in the assistance in changing the press over. Ensure all lines are prepared in all aspects to assist in achieving daily/weekly plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of a Press Support Operator:

Understand the Company Quality, Hygiene and Environmental Policies in relation to the relevant standards (specifically BS EN ISO 9001 & 14001) and actively promote these within the business.

  • Assist on line clearance
  • Remove all bespoke items from press.
  • Configuration change.
  • Power up /power down press.
  • Load screen cassette into press and install screen.
  • Gap screen.
  • Change size of press if required.
  • Load shafts into and remove from press.
  • Load mag base into cutter unit and removal also.
  • Gravure wash up.
  • Safety features on press.
  • Mag die application.
  • Splicing on material and centralisation of web.
  • Load and remove press cylinders.
  • Change impression cylinders in press.
  • Wash-up all unwanted inks/varnishes.
  • Foiling unit into press.
  • Clean all trolleys (wash-up / S/S trolley) daily.
  • Support the Wash & Build and Plate Bending / Mounting areas as and when required.
  • Ensure 5s standards are met on Press lines in conjunction with Press Operators
  • Build up all off line tooling, Foilers, etc
  • Mount all plates and delivery to press
  • Support Pre-Press functions (Inks, Plate room, allocation, packing, goods in and despatch) as and when required
  • Complete daily 5s hygiene and Operational cleaning tasks

Skills Required for a Press Support Operator:

  • Experience of a similar role within a fast moving label printer / FMCG environment.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and have good problem solving skills.
