Yard Operative

£12.21 per hour
Are you looking for a hands-on role that keeps you active throughout the day? We're currently hiring a Yard Operative to join our busy client.
This is an outdoor role based in a busy yard environment, and you’ll be performing a variety of tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, moving stock, and ensuring the yard remains in a tidy and organized condition. The job will involve working in all weather conditions, so you should be prepared for the outdoor elements in this physically demanding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep and clean the yard, ensuring it is free from debris and kept safe for others working on-site.
- Keep areas organized, ensuring materials are safely stored and easily accessible.
- Perform general yard maintenance and cleaning, including litter picking and clearing leaves.
- Supporting with loading & unloading of deliveries.
- Work in all weather conditions, and maintain a positive, professional attitude throughout.
- Ensure that all health and safety practices are followed while carrying out yard tasks.
Skills & Qualifications:
- FLT Counterbalance License (Desired but not essential).
- Experience in a yard, warehouse, or outdoor environment is an advantage.
- Ability to work outdoors and in dirty or wet conditions.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations at all times.
- A positive, hard-working attitude and a team player.
This is an outdoor yard job, meaning you’ll spend most of your time working outside,. The work involves heavy lifting, moving stock, and ensuring that the yard is clear and clean at all times.
