The opportunity of Workshop Engineer would suit a trained Car Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, Master Technician, HGV Technician, Roadside Recovery or similar.

Their products are becoming more advanced and diagnostic, electric skills are highly desirable.

Responsibilities of the Workshop Engineer:

Servicing and repair of material handling equipment.

Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensuring all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct

Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers

Manage own work-in-progress

Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner

Report any unsafe practices or potential hazards immediately

To maintain familiarization with policies & procedures & adhere to these. E.g. IT Policy, absence policy, etc.

Attend training courses to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment

Requirements of the Workshop Engineer:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant or similar is essential
  • Served full apprenticeship
  • Workshop Engineers, Workshop Technicians, Vehicle Technicians, Master Technicians, Mechanics, Plant Fitters, Roadside Recovery, Agricultural Engineers, FLT Engineers are all considered
  • Technical experience in Engines, Electrics, and Diagnostics is compulsory.
